Cal Oak & Cal-Flor Celebrate 40 years of Success!
On May 21, 2005 Cal Oak (which would eventually become Cal-Flor) Celebrated 40 years of operations! Guy and Barbara Hall, the founders of the company were the guests of honor. Current and past employees gathered for this monumental occasion for a party on the edge of Lake Oroville.
Highlights of the event included various awards for Guy Hall, including one from the city of Oroville chamber of Commerce, a re-enactment of the history of the company, fireworks, custom made for the event, and a vocal performance by none other than Cal-Flor’s Jim LaBarber. Also on display were several items from the company history, such as a life size card board cutout of Guy when the company first stared, which was promptly decorated in a humorous manner. Other company artifacts were more serious such as samples of the Hooker Oak, a 17 foot panoramic photo of the Cal Oak land back in the 1960’s, and Guy’s book ‘The Management, Manufacture, Marketing of California Black Oak, Pacific Madrone and Tanoak’.
The anniversary was covered by several local news papers including the Mercury Register.
