Cal Oak & Cal-Flor Celebrate 40 Years of Success!

On May 21, 2005 Cal Oak (which would eventually become Cal-Flor) celebrated 40 years of operations! Guy and Barbara Hall, the founders of the company were the guests of honor. Current and past employees gathered for this monumental occasion for a party on the edge of Lake Oroville.

Highlights of the event included various awards for Guy Hall, including one from the city of Oroville Chamber of Commerce, a re-enactment of the history of the company, fireworks custom made for the event, and a vocal performance by none other than Cal-Flor's Jim LaBarber. Also on display were several items from the company history, such as a life size card board cut out of Guy when the company first started, which was promptly decorrated in a humerous manner. Other company artifacts were more serious such as samples of the Hooker Oak, a 17 foot panoramic photo of the Cal Oak land back in the 1960's, and Guy's book 'The Management, Manufacture, Marketing of California Black Oak, Pacific Madrone and Tanoak'.
